MY
Story

Life can be unpredictable, and sometimes we're thrown curveballs that we never see coming. In 2012, when I was only 25 years old, I found myself grappling with anxiety, panic attacks, muscle tension, hand tremors, and more. It wasn't until years later that I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

In college, circa 2007, I stumbled upon Yoga. The movement, the flow, the connection I felt with the whole—I fell in love. It became my sanctuary, a "place" where I felt light, held, and safe.

This practice, which includes meditation, breath-work, and asanas (poses) is now my healing space, a sort of safe container for me to fall back on every time I need it, it’s allowed me to go through many storms, and come out of the other side, although a bit winded and thrown around but more whole and wiser. To this day, this is where I go when I need to come back to myself. I'm very grateful to have found it.

During the long period between the onset of symptoms and diagnosis, I discovered Ayurveda. I became fascinated by it and by the amazing wisdom it holds. Ayurveda has helped me understand my uniqueness and how to care for my individual traits properly, allowing me to support my body in the best way to allow for recovery, growth, and expansion.

Along with Ayurveda, I delved into other natural methods to care for my body. Meditation, limbic system retraining, bee venom therapy for Lyme disease, detox from toxic mold and other toxicants—I learned, rewired my brain, set routines and supportive habits, and changed unhelpful mental patterns that were keeping me stuck.

Through my journey, I realized that when we take responsibility for our health, embracing our personal and sovereign power, we can learn, feel, and discern what's best for us. We gain the power to make the best choices for ourselves, aligned with our values and beliefs.

As I navigate the ins and outs of living life with chronic symptoms and a challenging diagnosis, I look back and see the most important tools that have supported me along the road of self-discovery and coming back to wholeness, these tools, although simple and free, require a great deal of commitment and resilience:

  • A consistent meditation practice, which allows our default mindset to be upgraded and actualized, making us more aware and more sensitive beings

  • A willingness to experiment and step into the unknown

  • Deep trust in my journey and full experience

  • Self-knowledge and understanding of my physiology

  • Infinite self-compassion

  • A willingness to let go of the old outdated patterns and behaviors

  • Re-programing the mind

  • A change in perspective

  • A relentless desire to live the life I know I’m meant to live

These things are essential in finding our way out through the labyrinth of illness. The way I see it, going through a challenging diagnosis is the "boss battle", here is where we play all or nothing, this is the time to let go of inhibitions, fears, and shame, to stop hesitating, and to go all in, fully and in trust. This journey is for your evolution, see it as so and come out of the other side a better version of you.

With my experience, knowledge, and intuition, I'm here to create a space for you, to shed, let go, come undone, and rebuild—more whole and more you, a better and more evolved you. Let's embark on this transformative journey together!
